Starts and runs fine but when at quarter throttle it gets stumbly and loss of power at takeoff but then fine once it gets through it. Also throwing code 42. Changed dist cap and roter also ignition coil. Sometimes at start it idles high then low for about 30 secs. Then evens out
I need to know if your model is throttle body injected or is it the enclosed vortec model 4.3l for that year...
If it is the vortec it is almost a guarantee that your problem relates to a leak at or to the spider injector located inside the intake.
I've fixed a few of these...
SOURCE: 1987 chevy S10 engine idle problem
relace the throtle air idle valve. The temp switch will allso cause this problem.
SOURCE: 98 jeep starts cold sputters, no power
the p0171 code is for a fuel system lean code......possible causes are a cracked exhaust manifold.....bad o2 sensor...bad coolant temp sensor fuel pump.....lean fuel can cause the other codes you have for misfires
SOURCE: 1999 S10 Blazer 2WD 4.3L V6. Starts hard, idles rough.
you have a single injector under the intake plenum it has 6 branching fuel leads off of this.A very common problem is the regulator attached to this and it leak off fuel which falls into the intake .causing this problem. it needs to be replaced .i have done at least 80 of these in my career.this will fix your problem.thanks for choosing fix ya
SOURCE: Idle drops really low then returns to normal afew times b4 cutout
my buddies 94 350 has been doing the same thing for years i think its in the computer i would say youll probably have to live with it
SOURCE: I have a 1994 chevy k1500 preignition knock
open the intake manifold by removing the air cleaner and or hose look on the back side of the plate to see if there is varnish and gum if there is you need to do a top engine clean, You must understand that running that kind of gas will cause varnish and carbon buildup on the pistons and valves. This causes the knock sensor to not to be able to adjust for compression change. It can only advance the timing 50% once the carbon build up is to much it will start knocking. If you want to receive instructions on how to fix this then rate me post a comment and I will give you the two page answer on how to do this. Unless you want to keep buying parts. your choice. I will no longer post it here as I see some think they can just take my answers and copy them.
