First, I'd start with a thorough tune up. Also, check the pressure on the fuel pump , and change the fuel filter, Air filter, spark plugs, wires, etc. Check all your fuel lines for leaks.
Sound like a problem with the fuel sending unit, its a device located on fuel pump (generally atached module).

is the fuel pump running in the correct direction if you joined the wires up yourself this may be what has happened if it was not a plug. hope this helps
Hello; O didn't see the important one. Fuel? Turn the key on and wait a few minutes . The fuel system building pressure may help. If not, Make sure it is getting fuel (fuel pump humming. Good Luck _N_
well ive never heard of a reset for a fuel pump but if you put your ear to the gas tank and have someone turn the key on (not start) and see if you hear a buzzing sound if you dont then the pump is bad.
