I think you should go for repair manual first for your vehicle after that it will be easy for you to solve the problem. Check the link may be you will get something useful here 2002 BMW 318i Workshop Service Repair Manual
I don't know that this will work, but try using the key and opening the door at the same time, both sides, this procedure works for locked doors and a dead battery, hope this helps, let me know.
open trunk, disconnect rear trunk light. use jump box and connect wires to pos neg on jump box. this will give u enough juice to open doors, I have done it twice. easy to do
try locking and unlocking the car with the key 3 times slowly ,other than that i have no idea ?? another trick is to disconnect battery and join the cables together for a few minutes to discharge any capacitors that may be holding a charge in the computer..Only other thing i can think of is the main dealers who have the right connectors and software to re set it all .sorry i havent been of any help
something in the airbag system is at fault. it could be the airbag(s) itself or any of the sensors that detect a crash to deploy the airbag. i would really take it into BMW and have it checked & repaired. the airbag(s) will not deploy with this light on so your safety is at risk if you are ever in an accident..
open doors ,, remove batt cable for 2-3 mins (with doors open) Hook batt cable back up unlock doors with switch (while still open ..shut doors try key first lock then unlock !!
Should do it !!!
this problem is most commonly caused by the rotating contact under the steering wheel (also called the clock-spring contact), it has developed and open circuit, the airbag control/diagnostic monitor senses this and disables the airbag system
thank you will try this
