Fuel relay could be faulty. i think its number 30 or 167 in the fuse box under the driver side steering. it could also be the fuel pump or connector on the fuel pump under the black metal plate under your trunk carpet. you could try manually throwing in fuel into the intake to make sure its not your car's ecu or ignition system. if it starts and stays running it could be what took me a few months to discover after i had intermittent problems. there a small vacuum hose from the fifth injector on a 1997 mk3 gti (4 cylinder) that connects to the injector rail. i think its some kind of activation for the electronic injectors. my pipe was broken and i just cut it and my car hasnt been better since! i know this is an old question but i hope it helps someone out there!

Currently the polo4 VW 1.6 can not start even when there is enough fuel and the battery is ok. It can be like starting after turning on the switch but it then refuses, whats the problem?

sound like glow plugs not working. during start up diesel engines need preheat ignition cylinder before fuel can injected and burn if glow plugs not working diesel engine wont fire.do you see glow plug turn on when first start engine.

VW Golf engine rattle

You are experiencing detonation. Main causes are:

  • Low octane fuel - Use higher octane rating fuel.
  • Incorrect ignition timing - Readjust timing
  • Too high compression ratio(due to engine mods such as skimmed head or high compression pistons) - replace modified parts
  • Air/fuel mix too lean - Replace fuel filter and readjust.

Mk1 vw golf cabrio: hot starting problem?

Probably the starter needs to be replaced. If it was the battery, you would have more problems cold than hot.

Vw golf 1994 1598cc with monotronic injection, engine only starts from cold. won't restart once warm, anybody had the same problem? if so what is the cause?

sounds like a clogged fuel bar and may be in need of replacement ...every-time you turn the key from off to on the cold start injector fires the car.also may be a clogged fuel filter to bad fuel-pump but open the hood and visually inspect the vacuum lines for cracks and wear as well as the plug wires and other wires are not grounding out somewhere look for the obvious as well as all fluid levels

When I switch the engine off, the clock does not

They either turn off after a lil while or stay on continuously. Either way is normal.
