Power window will go up but not down

The passenger window won't go down but will go up with either switch. I've tried a new double master switch & a new passenger window switch with the exact same results. The motor is working when applying direct power only. When I unhook the passenger switch , the master driver switch won't put the window up , plug the passenger back in & it works again but only for going up.

This may be related to the BCM (body control module) it can be self tested to see if any faults are present.

SOURCE: Looking for wiring diagram for

You'll need to pull the door panel and check for power and ground at the 2 wire connector located near the window motor (there should be a dark blue wire and a brown wire). With a test light there should be power on one of the two wires at any time. If there is power on both wires with the switch in the up position than the switch is bad. If the only wire powered up in the up position is the dark blue wire than try tapping the motor while holding the switch in the up position. If it starts to work than the motor is bad.

On a side note check for power with all the connectors plugged in. You can also jump the connections at the motor. Supply a ground to the brown wire and supply power to the dark blue wire and the window should go up.

Passenger power window on Dodge Ram 1500 won't go up.

I would be guessing,(we do that a lot)
that the driver door sw is a master & thus
neither works

When you do voltage drops-- have the alternator
running, so you have a more stable voltage

Passenger side window rolls down, not up.

New switch, and new motor, and still the problem! I wonder if the driver's switch (the master switch) for the pass. window is stuck in a position that won't allow for the passenger switch to operate normally. Not sure how you'd test that hypothesis without trying a new masterswitch, but maybe you can figure a way. And as you know, power for the windows is routed first through the master switch, and then to the other window switches.
I would think you could get the window up if you disconnected the actuator for the power windows. Just reconnect everything after you get the window up.
Good luck, Kollman.

I need an electrical diagram showing wiring from the base,to power windows on a 2003 Chevrolet Venture,my power windows won't work either side in my 2003 Venture, checked power at fuse box next to...

Check the main fuse box next to the battery, # 8 max fuse powers IGN MAIN 2 Ignition Switch to Fuses (I/P): BCM PRGRM, FRT HVAC LOW/MED BLWR, FRT WPR/WSHR, HVAC/DRL, MALL/RADIO/DIC, PWR QRT VENT, RR HVAC, RR WPR/WSHR, SWC ACCY & PWR WDO Circuit Breaker.

#3 circuit breaker is the front window breaker, try swapping it out with another breaker beside it and thats located in the side dash panel also.

The common cause of failed power window function is the switch on the doors going bad from dirt. Does the power window on the passenger side go down with the passenger side switch?? if it does then its a bad drivers side and and try cleaning the switch with electrical contact cleaner. 95% of the time this will save you from buying a new switch.

1997 chysler town & country passenger window won't go up or down

Neither master switch on driver's door, nor the passenger switch works? You will have to take off inner panel on pass. door to get to the window motor, and check wiring or motor malfunction.

Why my passenger side power window not roll down but locks work

That is like asking why your grass grows faster one week than the next

You use the window switch a lot --- so start there

Next, is the window regulator or cable broken -when
that happens the window usually falls down

The window motor may have fail in some way

I know you should check for a blown fuse but the other
windows work & if it did blow replacing it won't do a thing

If you have & know how to use a volt meter on any setting,
start by getting access to the switches

I doubt the locks are even on the same circuit

Personally I wouldn't even approach the vehicle
without a wiring diagram
Like going on a road trip,no map,why leave home
won't find anything or get to any place

Most people ask a question & go to a repair shop
or try thing the hard way because it costs nothing

Also gives no results

Hi,
The problem would be the power window switch assembly! That switch controls the power to ur window motors! If u are a tinkering man, try to borrow from any garage/friend w/ the same window switch and test it!
Or
Go to ur service center and have them check it for free... they always try the new switch... and you will know the main prob!
