Crankshaft position sensor

This is the oem part# for a crankshaft position sensor 39180-37150

Its located in the front of the engine mounted to the timing cover near the crankshaft pulley.

should be on bottom of crank on left side behind the pulley.. the big metal ring with teeth on it on front side of motor..

in the rear of the engine on the drivers side at the top of the transmission bell housing

here are illustrations of the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor in 2.3L and 3.0L.

Note: In the bottom of the 2.3L drawing says Trottle Position (TP) Sensor, this is wrong, It should say CKP Sensor.


2.3L Engine


The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located to the left of the crankshaft pulley.

3.0L Engine


The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located just behind the crankshaft pulley on engine block.

The camshaft position sensor is located on the timing cover, near the top of the motor. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the same timing cover near the crankshaft. Just a side note, more than likely the crankshaft position is your issue and it's under a recall from Nissan and they will replace it for free.

hi there, im guessing your crankshaft sensor has been damaged. its located under the crankshaft pulley.

tha crankshaft sensor is behind the powersterring pump behind the aluminum base
