im having the same problem. i think my 18yrs old nephew was loading a cd wrong & its one stuck in the cd changer. HELP!!!im having the same problem. i think my 18yrs old nephew was loading a cd wrong & its one stuck in the cd changer. HELP!!!
I also have a 2005 G6 with the same error. I opened up my cd player though and found that the hardware used to separate the cds are made of thin sheet and cheap plastic. the plastic breaks and the cds become double loaded and jam. the only thing that can be done is replacing the system. It may be more costly but I would suggest a different system altogether.I also have a 2005 G6 with the same error. internal electrical fualt of the c/d changer, you'll need to send the changer into be repaired. your local GM dealership can help you with that. sometimes stereo shops can do the work a little cheaper.
I am assuming the changer is part of the radio. You try removing the negative cable from the battery and reconnecting it to see if that resets the problem, but unfortunately, the dealer is probably right - not much else you can do.
Very tricky, my suggestion is to restart the radio again see if it reads the CDs this time. Try removing the radio fuse, where all the other fuses are at. Turn the radio on without the fuse, press and hold a button for a minute just to make sure you drain the electricity from the changer. Then put the fuse back and see what happens. You can also disconnect the negative or ground from the battery wait five minutes and connect it again but this will also restart the car computer.
This sucks on multiple levels. If you have the 6 disk CD changer that is part of the Monsoon sound system upgrade, these radios are expensive as all hell to try and replace, not worth it. The really crappy part is that EVERYTHING is controlled through your radio; trip odometer, fuel economy, oil life, and a multitude of of other settings. If you dont mind not being able to see all that stuff, or see any warnings that may come up on the display, then by all means go for an aftermarket deck, but you will probably want to mount your factory radio in the trunk if you ever have to change a setting, or if you had to ever reset your anti theft if it ever becomes activated. The other fun part is that if you have the Monsoon system, wiring your aftermarket deck can be a pain in the *** as monsoon speakers run both a high +/- and a low +/- set of wires, that is why its very expensive to replace a monsoon speaker if you blow one as aftermarket manufacturers do not make them, and or are where you were before, spending alot of cash.
just replaced my 2006 Pontiac G6 GT Monsoon 6 CD changer with an identical model pulled from a totaled car.How do I reprogram it so it works on my car.
