Disconnect the electrical connector for the "Water-In Fuel" sensor from the lower end of the filter housing. Then the filter assembly simply unscrews like an oil filter.After the fuel filter is off, you must unscrew the sensor from the lower end of the old filter and transfer it to the new filter. Then screw the new filter into place. There is a screw on the top of the filter housing to bleed the air from the fuel filter assembly. Loosen or remove the screw and pump the hand pum on top of the filter housing until fuel comes out the bleeder. Then tighten the bleeder and start the engine. If you did everything correctly, it should start right up and continue running. If it starts the dies in a couple of seconds, then you must perform the bleeding process again. (SEE PICTURES BELOW)

Hint: Sometimes it is much easier to get to the filter through the right wheel housing. It may be easier to support the vehicle and remove the right front tire to get to it.

sometimes old o ring stays in housing ,and filtre leaks because 2 orings

9 dodge has no primer it has an electric fuel pump you need to bump the starter ( don't start it) leave in the on position and it should pump fuel . if you dont get fuel out the bleeder on the filter top your pump is bad. the pumps can run but still not pump fuel

Yes there is a fuel filter on a 1991 toyota pickup. Possible fuel pump failure. Hope this helps.

Check your manual for Bleeding the system. Sounds like you have air in the fuel lines. Look in your manual also at Changing your fuel filter. It will
explain the right way to get the air out. Did the manual say where the cut out switch was??? That would be the switch that shuts the fuel off to stop the engine.

the fuel pump fuse is number 28 and it a 20 amp if that helps

it will probably be just to the right of the oil filler you need to undo the 4 allen key bolts and remove the housing lid the filter should be inside. when removed undo the drail on the bottom of the housing and let the diesel drain off then tighten drain. fit new filter but before refitting the lid work the primer pump until the fuel comes to the top of filter. refit the lid and tighten 4 bolt. pump primer then start car

try taking off the line where it meets the efi housing and running the pump until the burping stops

do not understand you what you mean. assuming your car was ok before you changed f/filter you need to bleed the fuel system of air. esiest to do would be to loosen fuel line at the injectors and have assistant crank the engine while you observe for clear fuel leak without any air bubbles from fuel line.tighten fuel lines and start engine. might have to repeat a few times. good luck.
