Have a Saab 9000 turbo 2.0 1990. It idles at about 4000 rpm have to unplug the idle air valve to drive the car. Tried to replace the valve but it is the same. What can be wrong br. Helgi

Look for a test port on the fuel pressure regulator. It will look similar to the valve stem on your wheel where you add air to the tire. Connect a test gauge there..
the idle air control valve may be bad or just needs cleaned out. idle air control valve acts the same as a choke. if it is messing up it will cause engine not to run right.
