Heater is dead

Hello!
I have a 2000 Buick Century Ltd. When I turn the knob to turn on the heat, nothing happens. No heat come out. The fan does not work.

Hello Touttatune! Thanks for looking at my problem.

I noticed that when I turn the fan on to the heater I hear a faint noise like something is winding down. This lasts for about 15 seconds. This "winding down" noise happens in all modes and at all speeds. I hear this noise whether the controls are going from hot to cold or cold to hot. But I do not feel any hot or cold coming from the vents. And the fan doesn't blow any air out of the vents right now.

The climate control system is separate for the driver and passenger. It has levers that we have push up or down. I don't think it is electronic. The manual doesn't say.

does the blower work in other modes?

does the blower work in any speed?

is the climate controll system electronic or manual?

My 2000 century heater blower died, dont replace the fan motor until you check with a simple test light to see if the heater fan resistor is bad first,it's only 20 bucks to replace. Its located next to the fan housing up against the firewall. The wires from the fan switch go down to the resistor, check to see if switch has power then check for power down at the resistor,I'll bet its the resistor. There are three, I think five sixteenth screws to remove the resistor one is crammed up very tight on the firewall, you'll need a quarter inch drive extension with a wobbly socket to get that one against the firewall.

I have the same problem and just got mine checked for 50 bucks... if nothing is coming out at all but you still here the electronic adjustement sounds when you chand blower modes, it probably your fan blower motor and/or resistor. the parts go for around $90.00 and $25.00 respectively... work hours should cost around $100 - $150 depending on who you talk to...i hope ive bin able to be of some assistance.

Why nothing happens when i turn the ignitio switch on a 2000 buick century?

Check to make sure your Battery is not dead. If it has a full charge then check the connection from the +side of the Battery to the Starter is tight and not corroded. Clean both Battery terminals as well.

My blower was working if you can get it to stay on, but now its not feel a tiny bit of heat in my Buick century 2000

It may be a bad electrical connection at the motor, the fuse or the relay. It is easiest to start with the fuse. A relay can be weak or worn out and they also easy to replace.

it does sound like the heater motor fuse is blown -- but if you check it and it is good ( not blown ) then it could be the heater motor itself or even the heater switch/relay. check all the wires going to the heater motor. -- try and give the motor body a little love tap,, ( this sometimes works ) and tells ya that the motor has a bad conection or the brushes are bad.
