Sprinter edc light stays on engine does not start

Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ? The fuel level sending unit inside the gas tank is an input to the PCM/ECM / ECU - engine computer , the engine computer sends this information to the instrument clusters microprocessor over serial data network .The microprocessor controls stepper motor to control the gauge . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has the proper diagnostic testing knowledge an tools , one being a professional type scan tool that can view fuel level sensor data to an from the engine computer .

You need to have it scanned with diagnostic equipment to find cause, repair fault & reset ecu

put some heat in gas tank or isopropyl

need more info does it run warm

remove dog house locate test port and install guage should be 45-60 psi

Given the age of the vehicle, I would definitely have the in-line filter changed. As per your increase in the temp, you could have a bad thermostat and it could be stuck wide open or worse, could be frozen closed. I would also have the temperature sensor for the radiator replaced. It could be causing your issue. If you've had the A\C recharged recently, you could have a stopped up condenser\evaporator.

Bottom line is your vehicle is 17 years old and I would suspect a bad sensor before trying to put a whole bunch of money into it. This would mean you would have to either have it serviced or, if you are able to do the work yourself, buy the part and replace it.

Hi have a 411 cdi Merc Sprinter, when rev past 3000 engine cuts out, will start again no problem.
