I have a 2005 Cadillac SRX- the car is making a strange clanking noisr that seems like it is coming from the front end. Only makes the noise when coming to a stop. Brought the car to transmission shop to have checked. They put it on scanner and checked transmission. All is fine-but a code came up for traction control? Car is also surging at 60-65 mph. Please help!

I have been asked to input more informaion..... the noise almost sounds like a chain rattling loose in the front of the car. It only makes this noise when coming to a dead stop. Also- when you first start the car it just doesn't sound right. I am almost affraid to say that at this point I am going to be looking for another car. We have had a problem with traction control since day one. Engaging for no reason on highway and almost killing me and my children. Car is now parked and costing me a fortune in rental car. Transmission fluid is clean- transfer case fluid was clean.... I am at my witts end.

SOURCE: Front turn indicators don't work, on 04 Cadillac SRX

you may want to check the fuse for the signals and asfor the locked windows, it sounds like your window lock has either seized or the button is off track. In any case, replacement would be the best option.

Keep an eye on your temperature gauge until we figure this out, just in case & see if it climbs much/any at highway speeds.

SOURCE: I replaced the hub assembly on my 96 Cadillac

You torqued the axle nut to the proper spec?

The ABS harness from the new wheel bearing is in the correct clock position?

Are you sure one of the pins in the connector isn't bent? Look carefully in the sensor side of the connector. The male pins are very small and easily bend.

Check the harness on the car side of the connector. It is very common for the harness to break or corrode especially near the connector or anywhere along the harness where it routes through the wheel well area.

2005 cadillac front end thumping noise

That's a tough one since there can be so many different causes, starting with something loose under the hood to a problem with the suspension (sway bar links, control arm bushing, ball joint, strut mount, motor mount, etc etc). This can be a serious safety issue, so if it were my vehicle, I would first get to a dealer or alignment shop right away to have the front end suspension, tires and wheels checked.

The sun roof is jammed for some reason, the mechanism is very complicated and difficult to repair even for a factory trained tech. I strongly suggest you make no attempt to repair it and seek the dealer for assistance..

I have 2005 Cadillac SRX 86,000 Miles. I hear a grinding noise when I accelerate and feel a bump when driving on hyway, No sound when coasting, stoping or ideling which to me would eliminate engine or...

Grinding on acceleration, rhythmic thump on the highway... might be a bad u-joint in a CV shaft or rear drive shaft. Put the transmission in neutral, put blocks in front of the front wheels jack up the back end of the vehicle and put jackstands under the frame (do not rely on the jack alone to hold it up!). Turn the rear wheels by hand while listening and feeling for slop or roughness. Crawl under the vehicle and check for play in the drive shaft bearings, then rotate the drive shaft by hand to check for rough bearings in the u-joints. Inspect the fender wells and suspension linkage for foreign objects that may be rubbing or bumping on the wheels. Inspect the tires for uneven wear, incipient blowouts (blisters) or other problems.
If you don't find anything in the rear end, lower the vehicle, block the rear wheels, jack up the front, and repeat the check on the front wheels.
Check your transmission fluid as directed in the owner's manual. It should be at the proper level and clean, with no burned odor. If there is a problem with the transmission fluid, the noise could be coming from the transmission.
