If they only replace the crank sensor the timing belt will be removed along with the other belts on the front of the engine so if any of the belts are worn it is a good time to replace them. With a $1275 estimate I suspect that other work is to be performed at the same time though.

The sensor list price is $80 and the time required to replace is 3.0 hours so at $100 per hour labor and 1 hour to diagnose it the charge should be $480 plus shop fees and taxes.

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU REPLACE A

The sensor should be mounted with 2 screws. The location should be between the airfilter box and the engine or the otherside of the engine where the belts are located, and would be near the timing cover.

SOURCE: its a hyundai trajet,aa said crankshaft sensor not

it is inside the timing cover in most cases with hyundai the timing belt will have to be removed so the crank gear can come off the sensor is usually behind the gear especially if it is a 6cyl if it is a 4 cyl then the wire goes behind the timing belt make sure the timing marks are lined up so when you reassemble it is lined up

How to change spark plugs on 2005 hunydai 350xg

  • I have a 2002 XG and they should be the same but the front 3 are easy but for the back 3 you'll need to take off the intake manifold so you will need a gasket kit for the manifold. if you are not that mechanically inclined u may want a mechanic to handle that. if u have a miss make sure it's not the ignition coils on top of the front 3 spark plugs. i made the mistake of replacing all of my spark plugs @180,000 miles to find out the miss was from one of my ignition coils.
