Yukon died while driving down the highway like it ran out of fuel. Had 1/4 tank. No fuel pressure. I changed the fuel filter and no pressure. dropped the fueal tank and no power to fuel pump. Probed wires before connector to pump and only got 5v. I jumped the pump with 12v and it works and disconected fuel line at fuel rail for injectors and no fuel is coming out. Any ideas?

i now for a fact that it is the egr valve . carbon balls in side you have to take it of and clean them out
SOURCE: Where is my fuel filter on my 2004 GMC Yukon XL?
normally the fuel filter on the yukon is located under the drivers door along the inside of the frame
SOURCE: do you have to drop your tank to change fuel pump
Yes, you will need to remove the fuel tank. Replacing the fuel pump is a pain in the *** if you've never done it before.

Under the hood in the fuse box you need to check two fuses, PCM1 and PCM B. If both of those are fine the next step is to look at the right side of the engine along the fuel rail. Tiy;ll see a black cap. Remove the cap and turn the key to the on position and then press the valve inside to see if there's any fuel coming out.
It's quite possible the fuel pump burned up when you ran out of fuel. When you turn the key to the on position can you hear the pump activate and send the fuel to the injectors for initial start?

Most likely the oil pressure sensor is bad. Its located in the very rear of engine on top of bell housing area.
Hello
The
engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer
controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is
stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are
exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure
problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done
such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with
a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within
range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is
correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from
a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring
repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very
rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as
mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune
and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical
issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or
other pressure related problems.
