My 2004 mercury mountaineer has got a miss

Mechanic has done a tune-up, has replaced coil, air intake gasket...says 02 sensor checks out fine, checked all hoses. Check engine light was coming on, picked up vehicle today, and light doesn't come on but it is starting to have this miss again. Now it doesn't matter if you accelerate or just coast the miss is still there. We replaced the harmonic balancer in the beginning of the year due to previous mechanics mishap with working on the truck, now mechanic is saying there is a possiblity that it still could be the harmonic balancer due to not have been put in correctly to begin with. Have it rescanned and see if it is the same code. What engine do you have?

SOURCE: In 97 mercury mountaineer, how to turn off "check engine" light

Go to the local parts store, have them check the codes (they will do this for free usually). It will tell you what sensor needs to be checked/replaced. Once the part is replaced, it will clear on its own. They can also reset the code, but it will come back if the trouble persists.

SOURCE: 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel gauge not working

The most likely failure that will cause your problem is the fuel level sender in the gas tank. The sender will cause both the fuel gauge problem and the check engine light to be turned on. The sender will need to be replaced to repair the problem.

Im having problems with my 2004 saab 93 1.8i linear. It is showing up lambda on the computer. I need help asap please.

You need to check for an engine vacuum leaks like at the intake gasket. Use a can of carburetor spray and spray it over the intake area, if the engine changes sound you have a leak.

Sudden power surge -happens in stop and start traffic. Foot on brake when power surge happens-I had to slam on brakes to prevent read end collosion. Three events in last two weeks.

Just my opinion, I wouldn't drive till you get it looked at, that sounds dangerous.
How long since a tune-up?
Any applicable trouble codes?
Sounds like something is telling the computer to up the idle, at the moment, I don't know why? Are you running the ac when this happens?
Check and clean throttle-body and anything that has to do with idle air system. Also, check the maf sensor, where applicable.

2002 mountaineer v6 car will start n try to idle then die scanner said bad oil sensor changed that n no change checked fuel pressure it fine checked volts to coil pack n it's fine ?? Frustrated

i would check the throttle position sensor first, check for vacuum leaks, egr valve, i read a few things were people talking about a o ring under the separator. which is under the intake manifold. i would check the easy ones first before pulling your intake manifold off

Trouble codes for a 2004 mercury mountaineer

This is usually a miss fire - the 1 at the end indicates that it is on Cylinder 1. First thing to check is that your spark plugs are in good condition then ignition coils and any wiriing issues if you can swap ignition coil to another cylinder and see if the number moves - if it does then that is the issue. The next part to check is the fuel injectors if these are OK then it is likely sensors relating to air fuel mixture like the MAF or coolant sender.

2003 mountaineer V8 Temp gauge jumps to hot not over heating. Replaced thermostat, no change

The Engine Temp. sensor is bad. it is under the intake manifold. if there is a miss also check under the coils over the spark plugs. If there is Coolant in the spark plug holes .then the intake gasket is leaking. The intake manifold needs to come off to change the coolant sensor. When off look for corrosion on the cylinder head at the coolant port. If there is corrsion then the cylinder head must be replaced.

Air conditioning/Check Engine light in 2001 Ford Windstar

A vacuum leak is a normal thing to run across on a windstar the plenum (upper intake ) gaskets are rubber and usually end up having to be replaced. A good indicator is usually missing on one cylinder and a tune up has been done and the coil works fine. You may run around town and find a parts store that will scan your check engine light for free and look for a p0301-06 code, a p0300 is a random miss. First things first scan for you code.

Car constantly overheating

if it has a viscous fan hub --replace it
if it has electric fans , check/ replace the coolant temperature sensor , fan relays or fan motors
have a compression test done to check for gasket or cracked head/s
over heating once a week is not constant so have the fault codes read to check for heated oxygen sensor problems altering the air / fuel mixture

Solving the following Error Codes: P 0300 P 04/04 P0300 02/04 P0171 01/04 P0171P 03/04

The codes you have metion is for fuel injection miss fires. and lean condition . These codes most likely mean you need to start with a tune up , and fuel injection cleaning . The oxygen sensor are very common problem with the po171,po174 code. The other common problem with the codes after a tune up is done is the intake manifold gasket is leaking .
I would take the vehicle in to a mechanic for a tune up and then demand the mechanic clears all the codes . You can take the vehicle back and drive it for a few weeks. IF the codes come back then have the vehicle recheck for the oxygen sensors or intake gaskets .
