My 2004 trailblazer the enginge stalls when the ac is turned on usually while it ideals. I have to shut off ac while sitting at the red lights. What is wrong with it. I have had this issue for a few years and they can never fix it. It's always something else they fix? but never fixes the real problem.
Very common problem!!! It's about a $8 fix. Disconnect fuses # 10 and # 28 under the hood. Remove your throttle body, and clean it with a sensor safe spray like Seafoam. Your problem will be solved. Happens when the battery is disconnected for any reason with a dirty throttle body. #1 problem with our platform.
Certainly sounds like the ac compressor is stalling the vehicle. This usually occurs when the high pressure switch in the system is faulty, and not deactivating the clutch temporarily when it senses a high pressure in the system. An intermittent failure in the switch is not uncommon - try having it replaced.

the first place to start is the flashing engine lite. that means cylinders are not firing at all or improperly and driving it like that for even short period could cause heavier damage. particularly valves and cat converter(s) the computer really needs to be scanned for codes in order to proceed. did the oil lite come on before or after engine quit. after engine quit would be normal cause it stalled. its possible that it needs spark plugs and/or coils. or more

just check weather all spark plugs are ok, even if one misfires then turning ac on will stop the engine. during motion the ac manages to get the power from other plugs. i hope this solves ur problm.

Take it to a mechanic... :P
On a more serious note, though, check any of the intake manifolds for cracks or loose bolts, then have someone reset the EC error messages. If it happens again then worry about it, if not then don't! Often enough cars will post crazy messages just to annoy you, not because there's anything wrong :p
