Why do my wiper blades come on randomly by themselves?

Check your manual for wiper fuse & relays location.You can inspect fuses visually...hope this helps

Usually a sign the delay part of the control has failed.
You may need a mechanic to trace the circuits to verify this.

cars r very complex these days--scan car 1st with a tech ll that runs a data stream-other instriments just giv a general direction--probly a module for the wipers needs replacin or reprogrammin

What is different these days is the fact that you replace the blade, as well as it's holder, pretty quick. Gone are the days of just rubber replacement.

My advice is to forget changing the rubber. Just buy a complete wiper blade minus the arm. This way although you will spend a little more but avoid the hassle and get an entirely new blade. If you buy a quality blade you will only need to replace it once a year or every other year if the car is kept in a garage. I have been using the Rain X Latitude wiper blade and have found it to be a fantastic blade. After 1 year of use it is as good as the day it was installed. Most blades especially rubber blades start to deteriorate after 6 months. Whatever you buy make sure it is made of silicone and not rubber.

new wiper motor is in your future. Seems like the first time I've heard of this from a 4th gen. Normally only 3rd gens

it would appear that in the process of the engine mount breaking and replacing it that one of the wire harnesses was damaged and may have some wires that need to be insulated.

there is a recall on the computer chip for the blades/motor for some years maybe this is your problem

Hi, disconect your battery positive cable for few minutes,reconect them back and see if this works ,(it should)if not ,play with the wiper swith back and foward,....good luck.....
