Code p0562 on a 2004 Kia Spectra

1.8L 4 cylinder

Thanks for the response. The battery was fine, but the cable to the alternator was bad and so was the alternator. Both were replaced, and the problems are gone! Thanks again!

Hi there:

P0562 KIA - System Voltage Low
The battery supplies electricity to the ECM even when the ignition switch is OFF. This electricity allows the ECM to store data such as DTC history, freeze frame data, fuel trim values and other data. If the battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the ECM will conclude that there is a fault in the power supply circuit. The next time the engine starts, the ECM will turn on the MIL and a DTC will be set.

Possible causes:

- Loose or missing alternator drive belt
- Faulty alternator
- Battery defective
- Open or short system voltage circuit

Tech notes:
Start by recharging or replacing the battery.

The P0562 code is detected when the battery voltage detected by the ECM is less than a calibrated value

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Slow engine start
- Low battery power

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

2004 Kia spectra runs fine at start up but bogs down after a few minutes codes are multiple miss fire and 3 and 4 misfire all coil packs plugs and wires are new

The codes mean the computer saw a drop in RPM at the point when those cylinders should have been producing power.
The problem could be ignition, but also fuel injectors or compression.
Could also be a cam sensor but you should have a code for that.

Where are the spark plugs on 2004 kia spectra???

Underneath the sparkplug wires. If you have the 4-cylinder, there should be 4 wires/plugs in the holes in the valve cover (or three on each side in the V6). If you pull up on those wireplugs, the sparkplugs are inside those cylinders.
