The overhead console that shows outside air temperature shows -40 all the time. The other gauges showing MPG etc. are working, just the outside temperature is not correct.

I would suspect the outise air temp sensor is defective, replace it. It is located in front of the AC condensor core.

SOURCE: outside temp stuck on -40

when its at -40 usually its because the ambient temp sensor is not sending the proper signal to the controller.. it may just be disconnected.. the sensor it behind the grille.. it has a 2 wire connector to it ... itf its connected it may havea broken wire from body damage in an accident... its rare that the sensor fails..

Sorry, the process is simple but too lengthy to post here.

Goto homelink.com

They make the system and have very complete instructions you can download.

PLEASE NOTE: MOST but not ALL Brands / models of opener will work with this system.

SOURCE: 2007 Chrysler TOWN AND COUNTRY.. OVRHEAD MAP

I had the same problem on my 07 and it turned out to be caused by the bulbs getting too hot and melting the surrounding plastic which opened the circuit powering them. I was able to fix the problem by removing the bulbs and cleaning the sockets allowing the bulbs to seat correctly. The lenses snap off to give you access to the bulbs. If you are not familiar with how interiors of cars come apart, I would not suggest doing it as you may crack the lens.

SOURCE: I have a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country overhead mamap lite

I very gently pried on the outer curve of the clear cover. It snapped out easily. Then I noticed it only clips in to place on the left and right side of the widest part of the cover. I was then able to simply twist the bulbs out socket and all.

What is the operating pressure of freon in a 2006 town and country?

Typical R134 pressures are 25-35 p.s.i. low side and 200-300 p.s.i. high side, all measurements taken with ambient temperature above 85 degrees farenheit. At idle, with fan high and system in recirculate mode, you should be able to attain an output temperature at the vents of 40 degrees below ambient.

I need to change the bulbs in the overhead console of a Crysler town&country 2005 van? How do I get to them?

The plastic lense that you push to manually turn the light on and off pops off and the bulb is right there. I had the same problem and while I was having the oil changed I had the mechanic show me how to do it.
