I do think you have to pull he dash, for that you will need a manusl, try ebay for used factory manuals, I have had good luck getting them there for all my cars.

It can cause it to overheat if it is leaking coolant into the engine or outside of the engine. Replace your thermostat and check your oil for water and your antifreeze for oil. This will confirm if your head gasket or intake manifold gasket is leaking. Check you water pump for leaks and and make sure your coolant reservoir and radiator are full with antifreeze. Another possibility is your catalytic converter is plugged up
