You might first check a couple of easier things to narrow your troubleshooting down:
Measure fuel pressure at the engine to check if it is in spec ... to tell if filter and or pump is the issue.
Check state of your transmission fluid ... still nice reddish color or picking up a tinge of brown? Might just dump the fluid in the transmission (not total flush) ... replace and see if that has any impact on the shudder.
The web is full of tranny stories on Silverados ... might be torque converter and/or solenoids if the problem turns out to be the transmission ... meaning $$$
Good luck with your troubleshooting

take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Fuel pumps are a common failure item on those trucks. Pick up a cheap fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. With the ignition on and you should have 55-65psi. Even if it's a few psi below spec it could stop the engine from firing.Once you determine the fuel pressure isn't adequate make sure you have a
good power and ground at the fuel pump. If that checks out, time for a new fuel pump module. I recommend only replacing it with an AC delco unit, I've heard bad stories about aftermarket replacements.
You could also spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throttle body and crank the engine over. If it runs for a few seconds after spraying starting fluid in you know you have a fuel delivery problem.
