I have a p0301code on my 1997 jaguar xj6 ,already change a coil and all the sparks plug but still got check light engine on, is there any way to turn off the light.

code p 0301 is misfire detected cylinder 1====causes --negine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition/ fuel--injector--ECT/MAF sensor--ECM
as most misfires are fuel related rather than plug problems , check/replace the injector

Car is sluggish and shakes when gets up to 50 mph

sounds like engine misfire to me. but it takes a mech, driving to tell.
if engine misfires?
try getting a 60k mile full tune up.
open glove box, see opr guide? see service list, see 60k column (it repeats)
bingo.?
filters (air/fuel), fluids, spark parts. (generic list, RTM)
or login to alldata.com and click maintenance then full chart
then see all things in the 60k column, those.

I have a 1997 bmw 740i. Check engine light came on (matco tool read multiple misfire code on #1, 2, 3 & 6 cylinder). Exhaust has white/blue smoke pouring out.

Multiple misfires usually are caused by a bad crank sensor, some times it can be a bad cam sensor but that usually does not go bad.

I have a 2002 Wrangler Sport. I have already replace the pcm, the cam sensor and the crank sensor. Still after prolonged driving at speeds in excess of 50 mph the engine light will start flashing and I...

Try cleaning the MAF sensor. It is delicate. It has a filament like a light bulb that detects the incoming air flow through the air intake. If the MAF gets a micro piece of dirt, pollen or any type of debris on the tiny filament, it can cause fault codes, skipping, engine shut down, poor gas mileage and etc. This can be removed and cleaned with a Mass Air Flow spray cleaner. Be sure to spray it about 10-15 times and let it dry before replacing the intake air pipe. On the other hand it could be a intermittent failure on a plug wire causing the skipping and misfire. Good Luck

I have a 2003 Jaguar S Type V6 and I wanna know how do you know if you need to replace the mass air flow sensor or whatever! I have changed the plugs and coils on it all ready cause it was starting rough...

Rather than take a stab in the dark replacing items - get the codes scanned and this should show what area the fault lies in. Normally if there is a fault with the MAF (mass air flow meter) it would normally show as a check engine light (MIL) - is this warning on? So many things can affect these engines from O2 sensors, coil misfires, bad cable connections etc etc. - so best move get the car scanned. Hope this helps (and saves money) good luck.

Engine misfire

Hi,
I solved the problem by undoing all the HT leads and found water at the bottom, once I had blown the water out and dried up all around I reinserted the leads, tightened everything up, and prblem solved.
