Next step is to get under the car and check the connections at the starter.. Do you have a 12 volt test light. If so probe the solenoid wire while someone hold the key in cranking position. If you have voltage there the starter died and needs to be replaced.
Always use jack stands while working under a jacked up car!!!

wont crank?
or cranks but wont start.?
if it dont crank use jumper cables, that is the first best tests.
if it cranks fast, ask for help, (hint check spark)
Always go directly to the ground and check it is clean and well connected. I speak mainly here of the body grounds. Battery to starter is fine cause it cranks well and headlights are operable, it's just the battery ground to the body that's giving you trouble. When electrical problems arise, Always go directly to the grounds first.
check you battery and cables. if ok check for power when someone tries to start it. if you have power hit the starter with a hammer (be careful not to break the starter) and if the starter is bad it may start when hit with a hammer. if that is the case then you will need to replace the starter.
Did you reconnect your battery cable? The battery needs to be connected to crank the cars starter. If it is not connected ; reconnect and try to start. If it won't start. Try to jump from another car or get the battery charged at a local auto store (Auto Zone, Advance Auto).
If your battery is connected and in good shape you may have a problem with your starter if your car will not crank. Have that checked out
Bad solenoid i would guess. Not making a connection there. Any basic wiring and ignition switch problems should be alleviated by jumping the starter with a screwdriver. I would check the solenoid and starter brushes
