Complete Answer 1- Turn on the ignition without starting the car 2- You will get warning messages on the display (including the "change oil soon" or "oil change required" message) press reset for each warning till you get the Odometer displayed. 3- press the setup button until "press reset for system check" appears 4- hit the reset button (need to do this fairly quickly, if you end up back at the odometer go back to step 3) 5- the system will scroll through the different things that are wrong that it has detected, you should go to "oil life XX%, Hold Rest New" message first if nothing else more major has been detected. When on this message hold the reset down unit you get the message "if new oil hold reset". 6 - hold the reset down till the message "oil life set to 100%" appears (note have seen different wording in some models) 7 - system should scroll through any remaining messages and then return to the odometer reading Switch the car off and on and confirm that the message does not reappear. Have seen some instances where will not reset, if so take to your dealer.
To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the SET UP control to access the System Check mode. Press and release the RESET button to display “OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW” is displayed. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” is displayed.
