Is it mounted on the back carrier or underneath the car?

If underneath, open your rear door, on the rear surface where the door locking mechanism is, check for a bolt that can be turned left/right in order to lower the spare tire locking chain.

SOURCE: I do not have the "key" to remove the spare tire mounted on the

You are needing the wheel lock key for the nut that holds the spare tire on. If yours is lost then you may need to just go to the dealership and see about a replacement or see about borrowing one for a second to remove the lock. If they dont let you or they cost too much you can try and borrow one at any friendly body shop you might encounter. I know that the shop I used to work at kept a set of the most common locks so that we could remove them from wrecked cars.

How much does it cost to replace spare tire hoist mount?

the parts & labor
both vary by location, (unstated)
so?
wild guessing, no photos posted of damage, etc.

i can't post exact link because this silly forum , thinks links

search "spare" at toyota parts store. online.

this part is $99 USA, (random store)
and labor would be $100 at a stealership. with 100/hr rate
and 1hr. min rules.
in a mom and pop shop , maybe $25.
asking prices is useless,
why not get quotes from your locals.
online, , you might get quotes from Viet nam
or who knows? all useless info.

How do i release the spare tire on my 2005 Kia Sedona

Hi, the spare tire is stored on the underside of the vehicle, under the right-side cargo door. The bolt is located in a recessed area that is protected by a small square plastic covering. To remove the spare tire, find and remove the bolt cover, then use your lug nut wrench to loosen the bolt holding the tire.
Remove the spare tire fastener's plastic cover, place the lug nut wrench onto the lug nut holding the tire onto the bolt, turn the wrench in a counter-clockwise direction until the tire is released and reaches the ground.

Removing the spare tire

Typically in larger sized passenger vehicles the spare will be stored in a bay underneath the rear of the vehicle. The spare is stored suspended above the road by a winchlike mechanism that requires the use of a long rod with an eye hook on one end. The rod should be stored with the jack kit in the rear of the vehicle. and the mechanism acessed with the rod through a small hole usually in the recess around the rear license plate frame.

Hope it helps,

Where is the spare wheel/tyre stored on the DODGE CARAVAN 2002/4 MODEL 5DOOR SEATS IN FLOOR. THANKS NIC

Your spare tire is located underneath the rear of the vehicle and must be cranked down to remove using the long bar that should be mounted in the back on the inside of the van.

Put on the spare tire and see if that helps. If it does, go to the tire store and use your hazard coverage for them to check your rim for being bent or your tire from having a bruised belt. The rim is your responsibility, the tire is the tire stores. An 04 should have spare rims in Salvage yards. You can go online for those if need be.

How do you release the spare tire underneath the truck?

The spare is held in place by a cable that is cranked up and down with a tool that is stored with the jack, the access hole for the tool to crank the spare down is in the rear bumper in most trucks, look underneath to see it and be sure.
