1995 honda civic del sol blowing black smoke

Most likely a blown head gasket or a crack in the block. Cheapest way is to find a new engine at a junk yard and have a mobile mechanic replace it.

1995 honda civic d15b7 cranks but wont start. new

Are you sure you have correct timing? its definetly a fule problem, if timing is good then turn your key to the on position and try to listin for the fule pump to prime. While the key is in on position go to fuel rail, there is a valve on fule rail called sharader valve. Get a small screw driver and press valve in to check if car has fule pressure. if pressure is present then it is incorrect timing or possible bad cam sensor.

I have 1995 Civic Dx and it has been good to me till now lately my mpg has gone down alot. Usually with a full tank i can go about 400miles before filling up now its only 300-350. The engine has been tuned...

Hi
The most likely cause is the Lambda (o2) sensor failing due to contamination from the blown head gasket a simple test to check it is switching properly will tell you If a single black wire connect an A.V.O on 0-2 volts and it should switch from 0-1volt at least 20 times per minute if reads 0 its dead if reading.8/.9 it is seeing a rich mixture but the engine is not leaning it off as it should, so check your MAP sensor is clean, if your unsure take it to a professional.

How to test head gasket (non running engine)?

Yes, remove all of the spark plugs, and test each cylinder individually. This will tell if the gasket has sealed properly. Once you get the engine running, do this again to see if it can hold combustion pressures.

HEAD GASKET

sometimes you will have antifreeze in oil...if you look at spark plugs one or more will look real clean or whiteish color... the best way to tell is do a comperssion check. all the clyinders should be the same about 180 lbs.if one is lower than rest can be a sign of a bad head gasket.... hopes this helps....

Replacing head gasket on 1995 honda civic, require torque specs and secquence

wow. a lot of bad information on this site. Refer to a manual for the proper torque sequence. The civic I believe is a two step torque procedure. First 22 ft lbs, than 53 ft lbs.
