If the lights come back on when you release the key, I would check for a dead cell in the battery and poor connections at the battery and starter.

SOURCE: my car has been running

Sounds like the alternator is going out the slow way.
Youre kinda lucky because almoat all alternators go out without warning.
Most Autozone shops or places like it will run a test for free.
Good luck,Gary

SOURCE: My lights, windows, and radio all work fine. But

The "click" sound condition make us guess that could be a bad ignition switch or starter.

It turned out to be the starter. I first took the battery to have it tested and it was fine. Next, I took the starter apart and took it to Autozone to have it tested? and it was bad. It is not easy access to remove the starter. The intake manifold and exhaust system are in the way and need to be taken apart first. See instructions below:

- Take off Intake

- Take off Starter

Hope this helps (remember to rating this answer and leave some comment).

I tried to start my car this morning. There was no electricity at all and i mean at all, The power locks won't even work nothing. The car won't start, it's perfectly silent when you turn

You would need to use a meter or test light to find out what exactly is dead. It could be a short in the fuse box, or a bad connection in the harness, or at the battery or starter.
You may need a repair book or shop manual to get the wiring diagrams.
If nothing on the truck works, you would start at the battery cables and work back to the key switch.

Won't start

Check alternator fuse , it's should be a high amp fuse . Question is did you give some one a jumb start , this could happen , another thing to check is your ignition fuse and your ignition switch , but first check all fuses . Including the big once under the hood and inside the car . Good luck and I hope this helps

I have a buick regal 1997 and the lights are all on but the car won't start my window wipers work but my locks won't manually unlock from the inside

Does it start if you jump it? Just cause lights come on does not mean you have a good battery. The lights will require less amperage to work than the amperage required to crank the engine. Having stated that, how old is your battery? is your battery able to meet the demand? Have your starting and charging system looked at and good luck

My plymouth breeze won't start, won't make a sound, but my lights and horn still works , help me.

any real answer yet? did the problem ever get resolved? i have the same problem with my sister's car. too cold to diagnose tonight, but will post the solution probably tomorrow. since the lights and heater works, but ignition and radio arent getting power, my first guess is there's probably a fried fusible link which controls the 2nd accessory power to the ignition switch. will post a solution soon.

Just finished driving car, tried to start it back up and nothing happens. Radio works fine, lights come up but car won't start.

if starter is not engaging or clicks then have battery load tested. if battery checks good then test the voltage draw on the starter, may be dragging when it gets hot.

1992 toyota pickup won't start and battery won't charge

Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.
