As I turned the corner to get in to work I heard a crackling sound coming from the from/passenger side of the vehicle, I thought it was a popped tired and I began to slow down. At some point the car stopped moving forward. I proceeded to accelerate but it would still not move. I put it in Neutral but it still did not move, I then put it in reverse and it began to move.

Also there is another option and the simplest and easiest to fix check the transmission linkage located underneath the car below the shifter and next to the transmission (if it has 2) there is a U shaped bracket that holds these in place and sometimes it can come loose it is very simple to fix and can be done in 5-10 minutes after you locate it. hope this is it as it doesnt cost anything to fix.

Stupid question here, but did you put the valve body in backwards or upside down? Ensure all the connectors, lines are good....outside of that how about the gear selector? I have done alot of tranny work myself, but some of these things are common mishaps that I have done myself. Good luck to you and let us know what you come up with. Thanks for using Fixya!

JC

Need to replace one of the two cables for forward and backwad. The tiny gear inside already worn out. However need to take out whole seat to do replacement.

you will need to check to make sure no coins fell into the track and is jammed it if not you will need to replace the bottom frame of the seat possible with a junk yard one much cheaper than buying new and junkyard frames come complete.
