Time to have the transmission rebuilt or replaced
Its not slipping its just not getting into gear i have been reading up on it do you think that it could be one of my sensers on my transmission
I've never seen a sensor act in that way. but just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't possible. Usually an sensor issue anywhere on the vehicle will throw a code and your check engine or service engine which ever you may have will come on. If this is the case your local parts store can hook it up to a hand held tester free of charge and tell you what code it is giving and what it goes to.

SOURCE: 2001 dodge durango v8 5.9 trans won't shift unless i downshift
I have a 2000, there is a speed sensor located in top of the rear axel and I believe another on the tranny housing. Try the rear axel first.

My 1999 Durango stalls when it’s cold and I shift into reverse.
Once the motor is warm reverse works fine.

Inspect the rear brakes for contamination from a possible leaking axle seal.
SOURCE: dodge ram 1500 2001 codes coming up 0753 1757 1762
0753 is shift solenoid A, electrical problem.as for the other codes they should start with a zero not a one. if they started with a 0757 that means shift solenoid B,stuck in on position. 0762 means shift solenoid C,stuck in on position. 0765 means shift solenoid D,malfunction
