Wont start, tries to turn over when gas is floored but wont start. replaced o2 sensors, coil pack, cam positioning sensor, temp sensor, plugs. has compression, fuel pressure good, has spark, could use a clue as why it wont start.
I owned a 95 SC1 manual many years ago. It acted like that for me, and stalled on a regular basis. Turned out the EGR valve was bad. I replaced it and all those problems went away. I'm not sure how to test it, but two bolts and you can pull the valve and make sure it's not crudded up. Don't use solvents or you can damage the diaphragm in there, just use a toothbrush and some rags. You should also use a new gasket when you reinstall it, although as a test you can reuse the old one if it's not damaged. While you do that check for obvious intake and vacuum leaks. There may even be a vacuum line going to the EGR valve. Hope that helps.

Blair, I would take a look at he TPS (throttle position sensor) located on the throttle body. In other words, it sounds as thought sensor when heated is changing its value to "open" or "shorted".
If the car starts OK when cold, use a hair dryer to heat the TPS when the engine is cold to see if you can duplicate the problem.
Also is the a service engine light on? Codes?
If you have a "digital volt/ohm meter" available you can read the variable resistance of the sensor when the problem occurrs to determine if the sensor is defective.

You can replace the fuel pressure regulater in the car.
SOURCE: SL2 Won't start; previous codes=PO
I HAVE A 98 SATURN, WON'T EVEN TRY TO START EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. TURNS OUT TO BE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

i bet the coolant temp sensor is bad,,,when the sensor cracks coolant leaks into and wrecks it and then the coolant leaks thru the sensor and into the harness,,,and this causes the car to dump too much fuel because the computer is seeing a temp that is not real and therefore the air fuel mixture is off and flooding the car,,,typical issue, replace the coolant temp sensor and then harness,,like $75 for both at saturn,,do not by the aftermarket ones, yes the cost less but they are junk and will not work either,,,also i bet if you put the gas pedal to the floor or pump it when this happens i bet the car starts and smokes when it does,,,,saturn redsigned the sensor for this reason,it was plastic and they made it brass so now it can not crack and leak, the aftermarket ones are still plastic junk
