I have a 2008 Land Rover LR2. Both sets of electronic keys will no longer lock/unlock the doors. Thought the key might need a new battery, wrong. LR told me the keys do not have batteries and they recharge while in the ignition. Told them the problem, their answer was to buy a new $500 key. You got to be kidding me. Any ideas?

Give the dealership your VIN# and they will in turn provide you with an 'unlock' code. Input the code and you should have radio. If not, you will need to remove the radio and give the dealer the chassis # found on the case.

It sounds lilke the wipers are just going through the "park routine": one swipe and stop.
The melted part is the end of a wiring harness. But replacing this will not solve the problem. It sounds like you have a bad wiper motor which is pulling too much current and overheating.
There are switches on the wiper motor which probably have burned out and the only one left working is the park switch.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.
