SOURCE: loosing antifreeze daily

Not clear...you DO or DO NOT have wet carpets? If yes, do they smell like antifreeze? Are you windows fogging up easier than normal? If so, the heater core (Heat/Defrost/AC) is bad and needs replaced.

Does it overheat? If no, then just get the radiator replaced.

Good Luck, TD

SOURCE: 1991 vette. Driving down the road and the engine

Have the TPS (Throttle Position Switch) checked with a milli-volt meter, it seems like it is not working properly or is dead. if it is not working it won't send a signal to the ECM (Computer) to let it know how much the accelerator pedal is being depressed so it cannot know how much give fuel and air to give the engine. Also have the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor checked.

1989 corvette overheating. Put new radiator 160 thermostat. need help

You never use a 160 stat

That was a 1960's thing to do,
when there were no computers

I ran a 160 in my 1965 vette, just to see what
would happen.
I had no problems & built my own motors

Your best to go to a shop that has been around for years
in the same place with the same owner

May want to ask a local vette club for a place they use

I don't know when, why ,etc your issues started or the
vehicle history.

Usually a head gasket,if you loosing coolant

Water pump is eaten up inside

Some engines use reverse flow for coolant,
if you just had work done on it

Need to know that product to work on it.

Change 1991 corvette speed sensor transmission

Your transmission is a 700-R4,(4l60) a speed sensor will cause it to not change gear, the only thing that can do what you describe is the front pump, the reason why I say this is you change the transmission fluid too often.

I can not get my cooling fan to start no matter how hot my 1991 corvette gets i took it to the shop and tthey ssaid they could force the fan on what's wrong?

well there can be three things wrong, If the mechanic actually umped hte fan then there can only be one of two things wrong with it. 1. the fan relay or the fan temperature switch. the relay is the easiest to test as you can just swap it out with the horn relay and try honking the horn. Horn works then its the fan temperature switch. Horn does not work it is the relay.

Good Luck

1991 corvette boggs down when normal operating temp is reached. No codes and have replaced the computer

It sounds to me as though you have a clogged or malfunctioning fuel pump. Depending on the engine in your car, and whether or not the engine has a carb or fuel injection system.

In most of the early 90's corvette's, there should still be a fuel filter on the fuel injection throttle body (it looks like a carb), and a fuel filter under the car on the fuel lines. I believe you'll want to check the passenger side, but follow the fuel lines to find the filter. You might only have one under the car, so don't be alarmed if you don't find a small one on the throttle body.

Try changing your fuel filters first, as this is an inexpensive way to make sure your vette is in optimum condition before you do anything else.

If fuel filter replacement doesn't work, you will want to have your fuel pump tested. The only way to DIY, is to remove the fuel pump from the lower drivers side of the engine and to blow in the "in" side with a little water and see if it puts out the fluid. Even at that it could still be bad, so if you pull the pump, plan on replacing it.

The only other realistic option is that your fuel injectors are dirty or the gaskets are bad and it is time for an injector overhaul. This is not to hard to DIY, but does take patience and attention. You can also try running some fuel injection cleaner through your engine before trying anything else to see if it helps.

Some unlikely options are that your smog pump is clogged, your catalytic converter might be bad, you EGR valve or Purge Valve is clogged, your timing is off and you need to check the spark system, or that you could have low compression.

1986 vett

Your automatic choke is probably sticking. Spray it out with 2+2 Carb and Choke Cleaner. Do this when the car is cold so you don't start a fire. While the car is running see what position the choke butterfly is in when the engine is hot. If it is partially closed you may have a bad spring in the choke mechanism or it may need an adjustment.
