I have a problem with it like almost bogging out. so to try and fix this problem i did the easiest and cheapest possibility to fixing it witch was changing out the entire ignition system. that helped a little but slowly went back to how it was b4. i checked the spark plugs and they had turned black like the last spark plugs were. im thinking im having fuel pump problems because it died the other day at idle and also seemed to sound like it was flooded so i had to wait for a while and it started again so it was flooded. where is my fuel pump located on my 1983 datsun 280zx turbo??? thanks!!

im not sure though, but try to check your compression rate. there might be a leak in your cylinder or valves that makes a bad air-gas mix. it's a long shot but it's worth a try.

Either your timing chain has jumped a cog, or a valve is stuck or burnt. Best way to check the timing is with a timing light. If the mark jumps all over the place, your chain is no good. To check the valve, do a compression test. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

I have a real similar problem on my '83 280ZXT and haven't figured it out. Here is a reference for manuals: http://www.xenons130.com/reference.html Free and online. ;-) Did you fix your problem? What was the cause? Todd Higgins Nampa, Idaho [email protected]

Could be the distributor. Bearings are notorious for failing which affects the cam position sensor in the unit. Did you have any codes thrown to the display ?
