2003 audi a4 cabriolet - top won't work.

I have a 2003 Audi a4 3.0 cabriolet. It has 65,000 miles. Yesterday while retracting the top (top down) the system stopped working when it was about 80% complete through the cycle. I followed the owners manual and manually finished retracting the roof system to get home. It won't work anymore. When I press the roof button to "close" the roof - the roof light flashes in the dashboard but nothing happens. No noises, no movement. Help!

Opening/closing soft top with remote control key: To open, press button e and briefly turn the key to the right in the driver’s door lock. Then, within 2 seconds, turn the key to the right again and hold it in this position (RHD vehicles). To close, briefly turn the key to the left in the driver’s door lock. Then, within 2 seconds, turn the key to the left again and hold it in this position (RHD vehicles).Opening the soft top Pull up and hold the switch until the soft top is fully open. Closing the soft top Press and hold the switch until the soft top is completely closed. Notes: If the control switch is released during the opening/closing operation, the soft top will stop moving. The soft top is com pletely open/closed when the warning lamp in the instrument cluster goes out. The soft top can only be opened or closed when the ignition is switched on. For information on how to open/close the soft top manually please refer to the Owner’s Manual. It says:-- The handle/tool needed to accomplish the task 'manually' is located in the fuse box on the LEFT SIDE of the dashboard. A small flat blade screwdriver will enable you to pry open the fuse cover & gain access to the handle/tool. Slight twist the tool and it comes out easily. Tool is a "T" shaped handle.Once you have the handle/tool IN HAND, simply turn the RED part (only) on the handle until it 'locks' in an open position. Leaves a small space on the handle.
If nothing is working then check the switch which you depress to open/close the roof.remove the switch and check the voltage. If its no voltage then the switch is faulty and that needs to be replaced.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Where is the thremo relay switch located on a 2003 3.0 audi A4. my problem is the radiator fans won't shut off and have been told this may be the problem

Sounds like your on the right track. The thermal switch closes when the temp reaches a certain temp and this allows power to the fans to draw more cool air into the engine bay. I would start there or you may have a short on that circuit also allowing the power to go to the fans continuously.

2003 Audi A4 Cabriolet ...cooling fans come on at start up

Yes this car should have a temperature sending unit that tells the fans to kick on. If it has two fans one of them is for you Air-condiontion, and it will turn on whenever the ac is being ran. One other possibility is if you bought the audi used the owner before you may have hard wired the fan to run whenever the car ignition is turned on. The only reason someone would do that is if they were to lazy to fix it properly.

How to replace a dipstick funnel on a 2003 Audi A4

There's a metal bracket that the plastic tube clips to at the top. The 2 little tabs on each side clip it to the bracket. once u unclip it, it "should" pull straight up. The one I did yesterday broke into a bunch of pieces. I had to break it off and pry the last bit off with a prybar. the new one snaps right down on.
