What else should I check to bring my dead touch screen back to life?

I've checked all the fuses and they're OK. The dealer claims a refurbished screen will set me back approx $1200. There's no way I'm forking over that kind of moola before researching and making a little noise to Toyota. Ideas, anyone? Thank you.

Then yiou will be without a screen. The dealer is the only one that can fix this for you.

Thanks for the input. I think I have bigger problems. As I got home from work tonight, the "hybrid system warning light" started flashing. I am not a happy camper. REALLY looking fwd to calling the dealer in the morning.

SOURCE: radio, cigarette lighter, clock display went out

Under the hood there is some. Not sure about your application, but it might control interior stuff too. It will be a bigger amperage than normally inside the car though

SOURCE: 2008 toyota tacoma whistling noise

I don't know how loud the noise is, but its weird that you mention 50 mph. At that speed or above you are keep a constant rpm level. I say this because it might just be your air box loose and the sound of the intake air is making it. A 2008 truck should not have any major problem. Sometimes an alternator will sing or whine but never heard anyone say something is whistling. One other thing is sometimes for some reason ive heard a noise like that coming from the speakers of my car that goes up and down with the speed of the motor, but that was when I was tinkering with speakers and sub outs and amps. Thats all I can think of.

Don't know if yours is one but some 95 Honda civic have a antitheft program. If the battery ever goes dead or voltage is removed from it, it will not work until a program code is given to bring the radio back to life. you might want to try searching 95 Honda civic radio code.
