2002 Nissan Sentra Chugging when you give it gas.

The car starts normal and will start out driving normal. But at random it will start chugging and will not maintain speed. (rpms go up and down) I can turn the car off and restart it and it runs fine for a little while then it starts chugging again. Appreciate any help I can get on this. It has me baffled.

Chugging felt when starting up

There could be a laundry list of things wrong. Do you have good throttle response? Does it Idle without dieing? Check your fuel pressure with specs. If not up to par. Then yes you are right. Otherwise Could be fuel filter, broken or cracked vacuum line, MAP sensor, TPS sensor, IAC motor just to name a few things. need to hook up to scanner and check parimaters.

We ran it out of gas and it started chugging and wouldn't run so we changed the fuel filter and it still is running awful still chugging we clean top of carberator and still is chugging what can i do?

the first thing i would do is put some STP gas treatment with fuel injector cleaner in it also make sure you have at less a half tank of gas in it and drive it on a back road where you can get up to 55mph Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as always wish you the best of luck Michigan Man

Rough, chugging when driving and conking out

Could also be a faulty mass air flow meter, or throttle position sensor. It's hard to tell, you need to take it to a shop to be properly diagnosed.
