Squeal? Did you check your belt to make sure it didn't snap . If it did your alternator wasn't giving the battery charge. It is either that or a bearing is gone on the Idler pulley . Oils good, transmission fluids good , battery has a charge over 13 v engine coolant is good? If all that pans out and you changed the cylinode switch on the wheel fender passenger side then, I'd look on the wire that goes off of that. There is an in line fuse . If it. Blew your dead in the water.

Check the battery cable where it connects to the engine block or gearbox. A 'bad earth' can cause the symptoms you describe.

Poor connection either at the starter, battery, alternator, or loose engine ground strap. Fully charge the battery also.

check the connectors that go to the fuse boxes, sounds like you have a power distribution problem

Hi Am, Open the hood and check the fuses inside the fuse box. I'm sure you will find one which has blown. If that fails, check the wiring from the battery terminal on the positive side. Regards John

Well, that's good, but even if the chain was broke, the starter would still be tryiing to start the car. Since your starter wont crank the engine over, your start circuit has a malfunction. Possibly the starter went out, so you need to have that tested for a malfunction. A simple test of part of the circuit is to turn the key to on.. Now your dash warnimg lights (oil, alternator, and check engine light) should be on. Are they on, and your gauges working? If not you have lost power to the ignition switch, so check your battery connections. If the key switch turns the dash on, then turn key to start. Do you hear a click from the engine area? If not, have the starter checked. If you do hear a click, or several clicks, then power from the switch is causing that click, probably at the starter. Turn the headlights on and observe them. Are they bright? If not, charge the battery up. If they are bright, watch them while a helper turns the key to start. If the lights go dim in start, probably a bad starter. If the lights don't dim, it could be a bad connection somewhere, like the battery or starter. Good luck

check the starter and ignition fuse. starter fuse is located in the fuse box in your engine bay, ignition fuse is located in the kick panel which is right under your steering wheel.

SOUND LIKE OIL GOT LOW ENOUGH TO LOCK UP THE ENGINE.THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS TRY TURNING ENGINE WITH A LARGE SOCKET 1/2 SOCKET AND 1/2 SOCKET WRENCH.IF MOTOR WONT TURN ENGINE IS LOCK UP FROM LACKING OIL IF ENGINE DOES TURN AFTER USING THE SOCKET THEN.USE A CODE SCANNER TO CHECK WHAT CODE SETTING OFF REDUCE MOTOR POWER.

Your battery is too weak to turn the starter. The starter takes much more power than the lights or anything else.
