This is my first FixYa post, so hello all! And we'll see what happens... I was driving back from a trip in my 2001 Saab 9-3 with 130K miles on it when I had a series of problems. Let's start with the preexisting issues. I often get headlight failures and have for years. I have also replaced the DI cassette at least 3 times and the check engine light has come on with a DI cassette code that my mechanic thinks is the result of an electrical issue. Finally, the trunk does not open with the remote and requires a key. Now for the new issue. Early in my trip, I discovered that my radio antenna was not going up or down. No big deal I figured, the motor must have just died. However, later in the trip, as I was driving, I had to stop on the highway and suddenly my ABS, Brake and TCS off lights all came on with an alert chime. This had happened twice before, but only when I first started the car, so on those prior occasions, I simply restarted the car and everything worked fine. However, I tried that here (apparently there was an accident ahead of me, so I was stopped on the highway) and no avail. I ended up driving for a bit and, since it was only the ABS, figured I would resolve the issue after my trip. However, as I approached a more hilly area, I discovered that the engine was revving high (as though the turbo wasn't kicking in properly and it wasn't downshifting correctly). I also discovered that the cruise control was not working (the light came on, but no cruise). Because I was concerned for my safety, I pulled over and, after AAA came, took the car to a repair shop (which was closed...got to love those holiday weekend trips), however one of the guys was there and, although they don't deal with Saab's, ran some basic diagnostics (without the ability to interface with the vehicle's computer, obviously) and determined that the transmission was working correctly, that the car wasn't overheating, and thought that the power issues might be a senor failure. I have looked at other questions and I feel it important to point out that my odometer and speedometer (as well as my tachometer) were all functioning properly. Does anyone know what this could be? Am I right in thinking that this is probably some electrical problem and that all of these problems may be stemming from the same underlying issue? And, if something like this sounds familiar, any ideas of repair cost? Thanks so much!
The abs light and cruise control problems are most likely due to a bad speed sensor.I believe it's located on the driver side front wheel.

take the vehicle to your nearest saab dealer and ask for a diagnostic scan, yuo have a sensor failure, if left it could be expensive.

Most likely it is the ABS module is going bad and needs to be replaced or rebuilt at www.bba-reman.com, hope this helps.

P1230 is the error code you get when the ECU decides there is an unacceptably large discrepancy between the two throttle potentiometers. There was a software upgrade that reduced the sensitivity of the error state.
If the garage have read P1230 they ought to be able to read any more codes to find out what is wrong but I would start by making sure the vacuum hoses have all been put back correctly.
