SOURCE: How to uninstall a blower motor on a 1999 GMC JIMMY

Yeah if you have to tap on it, then that means the brushes in the motor are worn out and you need to replace it. The blower motor is behind the PCM and Coolant Overflow bottle. If you remove these then it will give you better access to motor. You'll have to cut around housing. There should be a groove already there for you, just make sure you don't cut all the way around it. Once you open it and get the new one installed, you'll have to use caulk to seal where you cut it at.

I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy with a popping noise at the front right wheel

Could be one of a dozen or so things, such as ball joint, tie rod end, shock strut, loose caliper, cracked rotor, loose wheel, loose fender/bumper bolts, others also. Have it checked at front end shop if you don't know how.

I need to find my oil filter in my 1999 gmc jimmy

Hi, look at the very front (under the front bumper) of the skid plate, you will see a small drop down panel. The oil filter is behind that. Very easy access, just open the panel, ensure you have something in place to catch any oil, and change it out.

Where is the engine oil drain plug on a 1998 gmc jimmy ?

i have a 96 and an 01, go under the truck from behind the drivers side front tire, the drain plug is at the back of the oil pan just behind front skid plate, the oli filter is right behind the front bumper , there is a trap door to get to the filter, but that's only for 4x4 or awd modle's, 2wd filter's are on the drivers side of the enging infront of the starter

1999 Jimmy with Envoy package. Driver side low beam is burned out. Replacement from GM is $1200.00. Can I use an after market system? If so, how do I locate and remove existing HID ballast?

1999 GMC Envoy w/ same problem - we removed the bumper then had easy access to the ballast (two bolts on top and one on the bottom if I remember correctly). For the bumper, there are two bolts visible on top, then two a bit lower just inside. Remove the 4 bolts then you pull the bumper forward to unlatch and remove it. When you put the bumper back on, insert the lower bolts first - otherwise it\'s a pain to get them back in correctly. For a temp fix we removed the ignigtor/bulb and ballast, took the wires going into the ballast (regular bulb wires) and connected a 9006 bulb. We removed the retainer from the ignigtor to hold the new bulb into place, it took some adjusting to get it set in place but it worked nicely. We will be putting new/aftermarket headlight assemblies in soon, but this fix only cost $25; it was a quick solution that took about 2 hours.
