SOURCE: 1998 pontiac transport montana power steering return hose

if it's the return hose, you can just cut out the bad part and replace it with rubber hose and clamps.

SOURCE: The Driver Information Center (DIC) 99 Montana is out

I am assuming that the DIC does not "power-up" at all.

Check your owner's manual to see which fuse powers the DIC. If the fuse is OK, you need to get your hands on a wiring diagram and remove the DIC from the dash so you can check to see if you have a good ground on the ground wire to the DIC. Then check to make sure you have battery voltage to the B+ circuit to the DIC. If the proper voltage and ground are present, you will have to take the DIC to your local dealer for repair. Many GM dealers have an exchange program where you can turn your old DIC in and get a "remanufactured" one on the spot. Others will send your DIC out for repair and call you when it is returned to them.

I got my power steering hose replaced and the 2008 pontiac montana is whining like it was when there was no fluid in it what do I need to do to bleed the line?

I think you damaged the steering pump by driving it without steering fliud in it. It should purge all the air out of the system after turning the wheels full left then full right a few times....check the fluid again then repeat...if fluid is not foamy after trying this then pump needs rebuild or replace....expensive....go to salvage yard and get a used pump....good luck

Power steering pump replacement 2002 pontiac montana

Remove the drive belt, remove the 3 mounting bolts by using a socket ththrough the holes in the drive pulley. Remove the upper intake to give you room, slide off the rubber return hose, remove the pressure line and lift out the pump. Just reverse the process to instill the new pump. And fill with the proper fluid.

My 2001 pontiac montana is having problems with the power steering i checked the power steering fluids are ok but when i am driving and turning i have no power steering and makes a loud noise

Check your engine belts, you may have a seperate one for the powersteering,

if it is a serpentine belt, it may have stretched and may need to be replaced.

it could also be the belt tensioner, when the engine is off, the belt should,

be tight, check your belt or belts for cracks, it may not be grabbing the pulleys,

it could be slipping, get some liquid soap, put it in a spray bottle and spray

your belts, then start the engine and turn your power steering from right to

left, if the noise stops, you need to change your belt. if it does not , then

it could be the belt tensioner or a pulley that is binding. good luck!
