I'm having the same problem on my 2001 yukon SLT. Need to help please!

  • jbartsch Dec 20, 2008

I have the same problem except I have a 2004 chev Monte Carlo LS. I have checked all the fuses they are fine, But when I take the Heater Blower fuse out it shuts off completely, I have my thoughts that it is Fan Control 1 relay fuse but am not sure. Any and all help would be greatly Appreciated,

    Thank you!
    Justin.

I don't know if you already fixed it, but I had the same problem on my 03 yukon, TysonRicky is right. In my case it was the blower control module. You can find it right under the glovebox. It cost me close to $100 for a new one, but very easy to replace. Can't even imagine how much it would've cost me if I had a mechanic do it.

Its your blower control module( resistor ) a fancier way of calling it a resistor. Its located where the resistor would be, by the blower motor. it has three wires connecting to it. You cant tell if its burnt out by looking at it. Is it the digital dual dial type? If it is , then thats your problem.

This failure occured on my Yukon while still under warranty. Dealership replaced a fan relay located in the back, which allows for two-way control. Hope this helps.

How to replace heater core GMC Yukon xl 1500

Heater core is under the dash in the same enclosure as the interior fan motor. as to remove/replace, I recommend getting a chilton's manual for your vehicle, they have step by step instructions and specifications. Its a great investment if you want to do things yourself, and if it's too complicated it should give you an idea as to what to expect from a mechanic

Wet floor on the passanger side in front and behind front seat. took out front seat and nothing. 2003 yukon xl 1500 2 wheel drive

Check your radiator fluid level, if it is low it is a good chance your heater core or the hose to the heater core has a leak. The heater core is a small version of a radiator which has the air from the blower blow across it to force warm air into the cabin of the vehicle. You will need to probe under the passenger's dash to locate the leak.

04 gmc yukon heater air cold passanger side.

If this happens when you are idle, and then you get hot air as you drive, most likely you have low coolant and it only cycles as you drive. Get approved dextrom gmc coolat and cap off your coolant it is most likely low.
