My 2005 grand cherokees radio is a black screen from time to time it comes on and then fades away back to a black screen.

The radio keys dont work on the dash anymore, since changing the starter. The only thing that is workable is the presets and volume. We haven't seen the screen come back since changing the starter, either. I don't want to have to purchase a new radio, but I am not sure if there is a fuse or some trouble shooting that I can try. thanks for your help

Your radio may have two power feeds. Check the fuses. Make sure they all have voltage. Try taking off the battery cable again. Seems to help with other problems. See forum.

SOURCE: power windows won t work

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.

SOURCE: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Problem

I would start by checking all the fuses under the hood.
There is a fuse called IOD which the factory leaves out and gets put in at the dealer.
That fuse could be bad.

It's in the engine compartment IOD#2. It's a black module with two fuses in it. Take that module off and replace the 20 AMP one.

SOURCE: 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake light problem

You can adjust the switch by putting your thumbs on either side of the switch plunger and pushing toward the brake lever. The switch shaft will ratchet into the new position which is will then be depressed by the brake lever when it is the brake is not being depressed.

SOURCE: My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee's windshield washer is not working.

Check power at the pump motors. You may not see a fuse because some run off a circuit breaker. If all else fails, a bit "backyard" but you likely could break out the washer pumps from the system and make a simple push button on the dash to operate them.

Sounds like it could be a problem with the ignition switch. Does the vehicle stall or keep running? Do the lights go out or do the stay on until you cycle the key? Have you tried Turing the key a little back and forth when this happens to see if the problem goes away?

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Navigation Issue The

Look on ebay for an REC Joystick replacement. In the mean time you can hold down the middle button on the right side of the back of the steering wheel, where you can control the radio features. When you hold this button down, a little red wheel symbol appears on the navigation screen which means you can control the navigation system from the steering wheel controls. This works for simple tasks until you get the replacement joystick. They are about $30 and take about an hour to install.

2006 grand cherokee cd player dont work

There are two power sources for your radio...one is full time and powers the clock, the other is on the accessory side...only hot with key on. check that power supply. Remember...fuses dont wear out...they blow for a reason. If you find a faulty fuse replace it...if it blows again, it is because there if a fault somewhere.

Radio LCD readout

the LCD is back-lighted by a tiny bulb inside the radio chassis, pull the radio out, remove the sheet metal top cover, you will see a small twist in/out bulb socket at the rear of the radio display screen, remove it, take the bulb to a good full service parts store like NAPA or the dealer, the bulb is about $2.
