There could be a variety of reasons starting from no fuel in tank, problem with fuel, no fuel flow, no ignition, fuel settings and condition of the engine.

SOURCE: Starting problems 1998 Nissan Maxima SE V6

Hey there, I would look at the switch on tha back of your ignition. Not the ignition it self, but the switch that's on the back of it. Its white round looking thing about 1 1/2 inches in circumference and it has wires coming out of it. I think that its gone. If you are sure, that your battery and battery connections are OK, than look at that switch. Part is replacable at about $50bucks for the part and than if you can put it in your delf, thsm you will save some money there too. Good luck

SOURCE: car engine will not crank

on the starter there is a big battery cable and a small signal. wire connect a test light to the signal wire and try to crank the engine. if the light comes on then you will need a starter. be sure you have good connections first good luck.bye the way the light should only be on when you hold the key in crank pos.if the light is on all the time you are on the wrong wire.

SOURCE: car turns over, but won't start

Too many choice.
3 main areas are fuel, spark, air.
Try a shot of ether, if it fires at all, it is a fuel problem.
Then we can get into more detail.

Ford ranger wont start

Are you saying when you turn the key to start the radio and dome light go off ? That should be normal unless the draw from the starter is too high. The start position only powers the relay-solenoid under the hood.
Do you have full battery power at the starter when the key is in the start position ? Battery cables clean and tight on both ends ?

Doesn't start, not even a cranking noise

If it does not crank, it could be the key switch, the neutral safety switch, or the starter.
While you are under the car you need to check to see if you have power on the purple wire at the starter solenoid when the key switch is in the start position. That is power coming from the key switch thru the neutral safety switch that energizes the starter solenoid.

Car not starting, not turning over, have air and interior lights

Perhaps a bad starter solenoid or starter. If equipped with factory immobilizer, is there a light on your dash constantly on or flashing security?

HELP with my problem to my Question and added details

A good hot battery shoulde do it. Have you had any problems with the security system? That's all that should keep it from starting now. Have you put a socket on the crank bolt to make sure the engine is not seized and turns freely?
Good luck.

Why won't my '98 Chevy Malibu start, it just clicks??? YET, it HAS POWER!? I have a '98 Chevy Malibu. We turned it off after driving for about 5 minutes that day, came back 5 minutes later and it acted...

You know the 97 to 04 Malibu is noted for intake manifold leaking antifreeze into the engine. A little antifreeze in a cylinder can keep the piston from moving in compression stroke. Take a look at the spark plugs, see if any of them have antifreeze on them and maybe the starter will spin the crank with the plugs out.

Turned key on,lights on ignition go like its aflat battery but not, lights go on ok,told it could be starter motor, took starter motor out an use battery to test it while it was starter out of...

Easier to test in the car. Put starter back in the car. First, please try to jump start the car. If it will jump and start, starter is OK. If it will not jump start, go to the starter with a screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to short the big red-wire terminal to the small terminal on the solenoid. Be very careful not to short the big red-wire terminal to anything else, or you will get a big spark. If the battery, starter, and solenoid are good, the car will crank. If it does not crank, try again while jumping the battery to another car. If it cranks, the battery is low or the terminals need to be cleaned and tightened. If you have more questions, please reply.

Hard to start

You have all the symptoms of a low voltage condition in the battery, Kragen and other parts stores like it will test your battery and charging system (alternator) for free, but it is pretty safe to say the battery is toast. Don't reject this solution without the test being done, I think you will find I am right, low battery voltage can cause trouble codes to be set and low fuel pressure to name a few..
