There is not a MAF sensor. There is a MAP sensor. It is located on the drivers side of the intake. It will be a black rectangular box with a green connector. The connector will have three wires.

SOURCE: Mass Airflow Sensor 2005 Chevy Malibu. 2.2 ltr.4 cyl.

The MAF is in the flex hose that delivers air to the engine, it has a 5 or 6 wire connector going to it.

Hello l_anderson36: My name is Roger and I will help you. You should find the map sensor at the front of the engine. Located on the drivers side of the engine. The sensor will have a plug with three wires on it.

SOURCE: I unplugged the Mass Airflow

Most likely if there is no mass air sensor you actually unplugged the inlet air temperature sensor IAT. This is a little bead like thermistor that sits in the ducted air stream to measure incoming air temperature. Without an air mass sensor your engine will have instead a manifold absolute (air) pressure MAP sensor. This measures the absolute air pressure (the difference between the atmospheric air pressure outside and the drop in pressure inside) in the inlet manifold. The drop in pressure in conjunction with air temperature allows the engine control unit to calculate the amount of air in the engine to which it adds the correct amount of fuel per each injection cycle. The loss of the IAT signal is not critical as the ECU will assume a default value. However when extreme low temperatures are encountered the absence of the IAT may be become noticeable as the charge of air entering the engine will be denser and as a consequence the fuel mix will be much leaner; maybe to lean to start up.

Where are my temperature sensors on my 1992 chevy caprice classic 5.0L

there should be only one for the temp sensor that tells you what your engine temp is at the gauge. it would be on the drivers side near the front spark plus with one wire.the other place it would be is in the or around the thermostat hosing in the front top of the engine.

Is the metal flap on Maf sensor on 92 Lexus es300 supposed to move with gas pedal if car is not running? Will a bad maf cause no apart or a no start condition?

No. The metal flap in the mass aiflow sensor is not connected to the throttle control. The air moving through the mass airflow sensor moves the flap. The flap works a variable resistor inside the mass airflow sensor. The more (and faster) the air is that moves through the sensor, the farther the flap will move...that is how it measures how much air is entering the engine....that is what a mass airflow sensor does.

A bad mass airflow sensor can cause all kinds of fuel control problems that can range anywhere from a hesitation on acceleration to a complete engine no-start condition.

1992 chevy caprice with 305 has a 44 trouble code. what do i do?

Code 44 indicates a lean condition as indicated by the Oxygen (O2) sensor, most times the cause is a bad Oxygen sensor and replacing it solves your problem. But sometimes your sensor is reading properly and your engine is experiencing a lean condition caused by a vacuum leak or low fuel pressure.

Cant fid airflow meter

If it has one it will be in-line of the tube (air intake) that goes to intake manifold. Or it might not have a mass airflow sensor and have a map sensor instead.
