You need to adjust the park neutral saftey switch. the problem you are having is the truck thinks the it is not in Park so the truck will not start unless it is all the way in park. Take the keu turn half way and move shifter to neutral and see if it starts. Then I cam tell you how to adjust it.
You have a short somewhere in the headlight wiring. I would start by unplugging the headlights and see if it still blows. If so then you might need to trace the wiring back (with the negative battery unplugged) and find where the wires are touching. If it doesn't blow with the headlights unplugged then you should just need to replace the headlights.
You need to check for power at the purple wire going to the solonoid while key is in the start position, if no juice then check starter relay-under hood- fuse ,and ignition switch
Check that the small wire going onto the starter solenoid has a good contact. Next time it doesn't start, test this wire for power while the key is on Start. If it has power when you test it then, I'd suspect dodgy starter solenoid.
hi Jtdelta. What can cause the car not to start?
Because the battery controls your headlights and dashboard, if they turn on, but your engine won't start, a bad ignition switch is the likely culprit. 3. Broken Starter - Similar to a bad ignition switch, a broken starter is another common reason your car won'tstart.
