My dome lighting on my 2002 A4 3.0 will not come on when I open doors, unlock car, or remove keys from ignition. Dome light works when I turn it on manually, but that's it. Any ideas outside of bringing in for service to rip me off?
Try replacing the bulb it really is east. Gently pry off dome so as to not break it and with all doors closed you should be able to remove bulb and replace it. The dealership will do this for about 150 US Good Luck

You are having an electrical issue with your Front Doors, the Radio should cut off when the Front doors are open. Is the Dome Lights working correctly?
Is there a button by the headlight control switch? I recently found out that the dome light only comes on while the doors are open when this button is engaged
It sounds like a door ajar switch is broken. The door switches are located in the door on the latch mechanism. To get to it you will need to remove the door trim panel to gain access to the door latch.
The switch is available for around $20 - autozone part number SW1979 or SW3688
Been having a problem with the dome lights on a 99 chevy blazer. Still can't figure out what the problem is. There is a dome light overide button located under the dimmer wheel. When I push the overide button in the dome light goes off, but when I open any of the doors the dome light will not come on. When the overide button is out the dome light stays on all the time and will not turn off even though every door is closed. I checked all the pushbuttons and everything tests good. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?
If there is a switch on the dome light, that may be your problem. You would need to remove the assembly and check for voltage coming into the switch using a voltmeter with the door open.
That bulb is different then the regular one that does work when I manually turn it on?
