2001 blazer rich

2001 Blazer, 4.3L V6. 76,000 miles. Engine exhaust smells rich. I've replaced the O2 sensors & fuel filter but problem persists. What's the next likely source? Leaking fuel pressure regulator, injectors, or other? I just want to eliminate the constant eye watering and rich odor. thanks

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator

Two places to look...if you have separate injectors for each cylinder then regulator should be at the front end of the fuel rail. If you have throttle body injection it is on the throttle body itself.

try the ignition module. if it is bad it does not send the signal for the the throttle body injectors to spray feul.

I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer with a 4.3. It has two engine codes, p0170 and p0172, which I believe are fuel rich bank one and two. It starts great, but after warming up, is very hard to start and requires...

Can you post the fuel pressure spec for us? You have the spider fuel system? When you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, with the key off will the pressure hold for a bit? If it drops like a rock, you have a fuel pressure leak.
Smell of the crankcase oil dipstick, does it smell like gas? If so, either you don't change your oil and filter very often or you have a fuel leak getting into your crankcase. If the problem is the latter, you fix the problem then change oil and filter as many times as necessary to get rid of the gas.
Check the fuel pressure regulator and vac line.

2004 blazer 4x4 with a vorteck motor codes po135 and po155 bank 1 and 2 heat malfunction. i have replaced both sensors twice. after a few days the codes come back on what causes this problem?

a vacuum leak could cause this. dirty air filter. worn out plugs dirty fuel filter. the codes dont necessarily mean the o2 sensors are bad just that a condition exists. lean/rich that the o2 sensors are picking up. examine these items to see they are clean and in good working order. hope this helps

My 01 chevy blazer will idle rough. it gives me error codes, p0300 and p0135 and p0141. where do i find these problems

Hello your po135 is o2 sensor bank 1 your po141 is O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 and your pO300 is random multiple cylinder misfire these problems are your oxygen sensors and engine misfire pO300 is you engine missing o2 sensors are switches in the exhaust system the engine misfires are the engines cylinders missing.

What's the problem of my mitsubishi mighty max the gas mileage is 10 miles a galloon?

can you smell raw fuel when the vehicle is running? smell the exhaust when its idling.. if it smell like fuel really strong, you need to replace o2 sensor.. the o2 sensor is what tells the vehicle the air/fuel mixture, thus if one is bad it will either run rich (uses too much fuel) or lean (dont get enough fuel) hope this helps.. also check out the fuel press. regulator if your vehicle is equiped with one.. the o2 sensors will usually kick the check engine light on.

Where is the o1 sensor on a chevy blazer

Did you mean O2 sensor - there may be two oxygen sensors on the exhaust - one is usually close to the engine on the exhaust manifold or just beyond and the other should be on the Catalytic converter - looks like a spark plug going into the exhaust and a wire attached. - although not all vehicles are equipped with two. Inspect wiring before replacing - GM is recommended to replace with GM only - aftermarket O2 sensors don't last long.
This is general info.
Good luck.

Engine miss ,running rich ,-rottten egg smell from exhaust ,new plugs and wires,68000 miles 4.3 motor

It sounds like it may be your O2 sensor because if it is not working properly, the engine cannot determine how much fuel to ingest which would cause rough idling.
  • sometimes a bad 02 sensor causes a fuel smell from the exhaust, or you can just remove and check the sensor. if its really black "like charcoal" you might wana get it changed, also checked the wires on it and make sure they're not torn or anything. have scanned to find problem code if check engine light is on. good luck!!

Possible Causes
The following are malfunctions that could cause a rich condition:
^ Fuel pressure too high. Perform fuel pressure test.
^ Leaking fuel injector(s). - Perform pressure leak down test.
^ Vacuum leak around the MAP sensor grommet.
^ Oxygen sensor contamination.
^ Restricted exhaust or air intake.
^ Fuel Vapor Canister saturated with fuel.

IMPORTANT:
If the front oxygen reading voltage is above 600 mV and the rear HO2S is above 600 mV all the time, the O2 sensors are probably not
at fault.
