I need to remove the wiper arms so I can replace the front Struts on my 2008 Acadia.
I had the same problem. I started by applying penetrating oil to the bolt and then I tried a 2 jaw puller. But the jaws would not fit between the arm and the windshield. I then used a 2 1/2 inch "c" clamp and it fit perfectly. Turned the clamp bolt a few times, and the arm popped off the stud in about 10 seconds.

These are a tight fit...Spray a little penetrating lubricant onto it and let it sit for about 20 minutes. You will notice there are splines that match up from the drive unit to the base of the wiper arm...sometimes these can get a little corroded and becasue of the relative surface area it makes them a real pain to get off. You may need to just pry against it gently with a flat head scredriver after you spray on the lubricant. Pray at it from all different sides of the base so that it doesn't bind up and get crooked.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

youll have to raise the hood on the truck to access the screws that hold it in place there should be 2 of them holding it

on most g.m. products they're on a spline you need to pry them upward and away from the linkage, they can be tough so hold other parts so you dont bend or break anythinf, also if you can get some penetrating oil up there it may help too, lots of dirt and corrosion in that area, good luck
