Have a santa fe 2005 with a broken seat latch any one know how to fix

The strap for laying down the back seat broke any way to fix it?

We got the rear seat to lift after the strap had broken off which releases the latch - I used an 18" thin board (actually a thick paint stirrer stick) and was able to push the latch towards the rear of the car, while my wife was on the other seat pressing down and pulling up repeatedly on the rear of the broken seat. After we got the seat up I removed the latches from the bottom of both seats so that we never have to go through this again, or in the dark, or when I don't have an 18" board. The board slipped the first few tries, and I would have tried nailing a small brad into the end of the stick if it hadn't finally caught. I think I finally got the board to not slide because I was pressing not directly towards the back of the car, but angled so that the board was catching in the grooves of the latch better. Credit goes to my wife for realizing this might work - I HATE when she is right :-)

Hello
The best thing to do here is to take the car to an automotive trim repair shop, the seat will need to have the cover taken off and an appropriate repair made, the trim shop would have the most experience with this type of repair and would also be the most cost conscious place to have it fixed. I have never had this question come up on this year and model so it is not a common issue that is for sure.

Yes. Your Local Auto Parts Store should Carry these as Direct Replacements. If Not, Sears Carries them.

SOURCE: Hyundai Santa Fe 2005 won't shift into first gear

Most likely the o-ring seal between the torque converter and the transmission is going bad. Get that transmission rebuilt pronto before serious damage is done! But first, have a mechanic drop the transmission pan and look for signs of a very thin silvery film coating the inside of the pan. If found, then the transmission definitely will have to be rebuilt, and the torque converter will also have to be replaced since embedded metallic particles in the old torque converter will eventually come loose, due to wear of the clutch plates within the torque converter, and eat up the rebuilt transmission. Now, here is the deal once the transmission has been rebuilt:

Change the transmission fluid and filter once a year -- no matter what! If you do this, then you should never have any more problems with the transmission.

SOURCE: need instructions on removing hyundai santa fe 01 fan belt ac

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

SOURCE: PROGRAM KEYFOB FOR HYUNDAI SANTA FE

This is from the factory service manual of your car:
There is no onboard programming procedure for this vehicle. This vehicle requires special equipment be connected to the vehicle to program the keyless remote. Translation you need the dealer to do this.

Do you want to replace the Go to belt yourself? Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

Explain how to get the rear seat release strap out of the latch. The release strap is caught in the latch and will not move.

I have the same problem. Fought with it for hours with special tools made for it. No luck!

I guess that the next step is to disassemble the seat and remove it completely, to get to the lost strap.... Sorry.

Where is the hood latch on a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

It should be located under the grill near the center, probably off-centered to the right.

Hai i would like to know how to fold the back car seat to increase cargo space in hyundai santa fe 2003

The rear seats have a pull strap located between the bottom cushion and the backrest of the rear seats used to disengage a lock to lift up the bottom cushion. The pull straps will only stick out an inch or so, or they might have fallen down between the seats and then you wont see them. Before you can lower the backrest of the rear seats, the bottom cushions have to be lifted up and forward out of the way so that the backrest may lie down flat. If your pull straps are not visible between the bottom cushion and the backrest, you may have to stick your hand between the cushions and feel for the straps. Once you find the straps, pull upward on the while lifting on the bottom cushion where the pull strap is located and the seat should tilt forward. Once you have manged to do this, the lever for the backrest is located on the top of the backrest. Just slide the lever and tilt the backrest to the desired position.
