1994 subaru wrx

There's several ways to improve engine performance.
You can change internal engine parts(crankshaft, camshaft, piston, rods, valves, gasket, block) the air intake(filter, piping) the exhaust, turbocharging (although i don't know how good it would be since it is an aspirated engine) and there are more.
This is something that requires money, time and expertise.
You can do some of the modifications by yourself, you can start by upgrading your air intake, but other modifications require engineering expertise to be sure what the engine can still handle and how can it be upgraded.

I just bought a 1997 mercury tracer wagon with a 2.0 engine. We have a 1.9 engine that we thought came out of a 1997 ford escort. however from what I understand from wikipedia that did not have 1.9s in...

the 1.9 stopped being offered in 1996. it is very possible that your engine came from a later model run 96 or early model run 97.

but regardless the electronics are different and the engine will not run. sorry

Subaru wrx 1997 tachcometer

you should already have a wire shunt in the main harness for the tach. all you need is the sending unit and the gauge. the sending unit goes in a port on top of the transmission next to the engin bloc. the dealer ship will have the schematic for your specific vehicle and the right sending unit............please rate this
